Embed Google Calendars to Preferred Listings

 

Added new feature for preferred vacation rental listings today.  You can embed your Google Calendar to your listings!  Just log into your Furnished Rentals "my profile" and add your calendar link and the Google Calendar automatically renders in your listing.  We have a tool tip in the owner panel with Youtube demo for assistance.  It's a great tool to manage availability for your properties.

List, Favorite and Recently Viewed Arrives!

 

Furnished Rentals listings can now be viewed in a list at the bottom of the vacation rental map.  You will notice that there are 3 tabs labeled LIST, RECENTLY VIEWED and FAVORITES.  Visitors who are not logged in will see List view only.  Travelers who log in will see all 3 options to help keep track of their vacation rental search.

You can expand the list, hide it or use it in conjuction with the map searches.  If you would like to "favorite" a property that you are intrested in just click on the star icon at the top of the details page or the mapped icon.  You will see that it is now listed in your favorites. 

The Furnished Rentals list view will show Preferred listings first, followed by standard listings and lastly basic listings.  We have more updates to the site coming soon, including an availability calendar option that is fresh and easy to use!
Check out the new Twitter feed for your Preferred listings!  Pretty cool to update your furnished rentals listing with news about your vacation rental, specials and cancellations!

FurnishedRentals.com acquired by Furnished Homes

Our domain for Furnished Homes has been changed to FurnishedRentals.com.  As we continue to develop the vacation rental and furnished housing map we were presented with an excellent opportunity to purchase the domain name FurnishedRentals.com.
 
Key word searches at most search engines, especially Google showed a massive increase for searches of furnished rentals vs furnished homes (nearly 25 times more or on average 300,000 monthly).  Furnished Rentals says it all as to what we do - we do furnished rentals. 
 
Searches on Google, Yahoo and Bing find Furnished Rentals coming up #1 most often and our other sister sites and blogs search high in the ranks too for a myriad of keyword searches relating to furnished vacation rentals, corporate housing and furnished accommodations.

Home Page me Please!

 

Common question coming into us recently - "How do I get my home pictured on the home page at Furnished Homes?"  You can get your home or destination featured on the home page when you place a preferred listing with high quality images.  We can't guarantee that your home will be one of the many beautiful homes that pops up each time the page is refreshed, but we will work darn hard to make it happen.  Some of our recent home page listings include Nye Beach Oregon, Oceanside California, Paris France, Cabo San Lucas Mexico, Gig Harbor Washington, Flagstaff Arizona and more.

Place a preferred listing for $99 annual and load us up with some really cool high resolution images of your place.  We will contact you for further details if needed.  Chances are you'll see your place on the home page!

Guest Reviews activated for Standard & Preferred Listings

Guest reviews for your furnished rentals and vacation homes are now available for your listings!  When you return security deposits and thank your guests for staying at your rental be sure to include a link to your FurnishedHomes.com listing and encourage them to leave feedback about their visit. 

Guest reviews can be that extra push needed to convince visitors that they can trust you and encourage them to book your property.  This screen shot shows how guest reviews appear.  At the top of each listing it will show the number of reviews for your property.  Your guests can log in and post reviews to your listings.  If you have a basic listing you can activate guest reviews and additional features when you upgrade to standard or preferred.

How far to the Vacation Rental is it really? Use the new "distance getter" tool!

 

This example shows our vacation rental map distance "getter"!  Sorry still thinking of a good name for this little feature.  Here's the example:  typed in zip code 85712 into the map search, hit enter, red marker shows zip code 85172, mouse over any property and this red line streaks from property to zip code marker and shows shortest drive distance to your vacation rental. 

The distance shows 10.3 miles from Riverwalk rental to marker.  We think it comes in handy when you need to be close to a certain attraction, landmark or meeting place.  Lastly, you can grab the red marker and move it around to areas that you see on the map.  For example, drag the marker to the edge of the beach or the entrance of an amusement park and bingo you have the distance and shortest route to your destination.

Managing your Furnished Homes Listings

Here's a snapshot of the new owner manager panel at Furnished Homes.
 
It's time to update your Furnished Homes listings.  In developing the owner panel we set out to make it really easy to see which property you are working with.  Especially helpful if you manage several rentals.  We will add new functions in the next few weeks. 
 
Really IMPORTANT - Be sure to check your images to make sure they are not blurry or distorted.  You can change images, edit your descriptions and policies with ease.  Make sure you update your listing links and email addresses for traveler inquiries.  More to come....

Furnished Homes 2010

Donde esta GoFurnished blog?  Not to worry Go furnished is still here, just not right here.  As you can see we have updated the Furnished Homes website and in keeping with the theme we are updating the blog too.  The Furnishedhomes.com blog will be about features and tools specific to the site for owners, managers and travelers.  Go Furnished will continue on as a travel, destination guide and tips for those looking to rent or manage vacation rentals and furnished accommodations.

If you are new to Furnished homes welcome.  If you've been with us a while - Thank you!  We're working hard to fine tune and ramp up for some exciting marketing and expansion in 2010.  As always we welcome your comments and questions!  Happy Holidays and Happy New Year - and of course happy renting!
